In case you thought Target’s designer collaborations couldn’t get any better — you were wrong. The retailer has just announced that it will be partnering with THE Phillip Lim on an exclusive collection set to hit stores this fall.

Launching online and in most stores on September 15, 2013, we’re told the over 100 offerings will include men’s and women’s apparel and accessories including shoes, bags and travel goods ranging in price from $19.99 to $299.99, with most items under $49.99.

“Since an early age, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of design evolution,” Phillip Lim said in a release issued this morning by Target. “One of the reasons I wanted to collaborate with Target is because I felt that together we could create a collection that would inspire – one that is cool and chic, but still very accessible.”

For those who may not know, Phillip Lim is a New York-based designer who debuted the 3.1 Phillip Lim label, in 2005 at New York Fashion Week. Lim’s designs have received praise from editors, celebrities and critics for their easy, chic and youthful elegance. In 2006, Lim was nominated as a finalist for the prestigious Fashion Fund Award by VOGUE and the CFDA. Lim also was honored by the CFDA with the Emerging Talent Award for Ready-to-Wear, accepting Womenswear in 2007 and Menswear in 2012. Additionally, 3.1 Phillip Lim has received a nomination from the CFDA for 2013 Accessory Designer of the Year. Throughout the years, Lim has developed a following of notable celebrity supporters including Kate Hudson, Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley, among others.

Per usual, we can’t wait to see what this collab has in store for us, especially in the shoe and handbag department. Could a 31-hour bag at a Target price point be in the mix? We’ll update you with sketches and images as they roll in.

UPDATE 8/9/13: We learned today that the collection will be divided into 3 collections: morning, noon and night. Check out a sneak peek below of a few of the pieces that will be available in stores next month.
