If you haven’t noticed, menswear is totally on the rise. Which means the men’s footwear industry is also growing thanks to veteran shoe designers typically noted for their women’s business.
Enter Ruthie Davis and her debut men’s footwear collection filled with the same amount of attitude and presence as her footwear for women. Davis joins Nicholas Kirkwood as the second drool-worthy, primarily women’s footwear designer to introduce a men’s line to their repertoire in 2013.
Davis calls her venture into men’s footwear a “natural progression,” given the success her women’s sneaker line has seen and the incredible relevance of the fashion sneaker in today’s industry. The line is filled with shoes of an undeniably American style – aimed at the young Hollywood consumer (Davis names Ryan Gosling and Chace Crawford as ideal customers, to name a few).
This fall will see the release of Davis’ first menswear collection made up of seven styles. Stay up-to-date on the latest from the designer through Twitter and ruthiedavis.com.
