WHO: BCBG

INSPIRED BY: According to show notes, the husband-wife duo was inspired by the history of Istanbul and the Gypsies of southern Europe. The collection’s prints were also inspired by contemporary artist Phil Frost.

KEY TRENDS: The collection was heavy on furs—oversized, in patterns and some with leather sleeves. Key color stories included black, white, burgundy and deep blue looks, though a few more neutral pieces also came down the runway. We saw plenty of layering, including tunics and dresses with long hemlines worn over loose pants. Crepe, silk and chiffon dresses fell at or a few inches above the ankle and included slits that reached above the knee to create movement. Details included perforated leather, fur collars and byzantine-inspired prints that mimicked mosaics.

ACCESSORIES: Cashmere beanies and stick straight hair topped off every model, creating somewhat of an edgy, grunge feel in contrast to the luxurious furs. Lizard embossed thigh high boots and pointed pumps added femininity to some of the androgynous shapes, especially when paired with leather leg warmers. Of the 30 looks, only a fraction were paired with leather satchels and clutches.

MUSIC: “Man O To” by Nu, Little Lights by Soft Rocks and Cos/Mes

SPOTTED: Sami Gayle
