On February 13 during New York Fashion Week, Le Look Smurfette, a collection celebrating the lone female character of The Smurfs 2 will be shown at the Conair Style360 space in Manhattan.
The show is the product of collaborative efforts between Junk Food Art House, Lois Sakany & Samia Grand-Pierre of highsnobette.com and Sony Pictures Animation to create a rather blue and smurfy clothing collection. Coinciding with the release of the film, which hits theaters in late July, it will be sold at Selfridges, Bloomingdales, Colette, Beams, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Of the collection, Sakany and Grand-Pierre have revealed the aesthetic as “Gamine Chic,” a combination of soft cotton tops (a Junk Food Art House staple) and classically tailored silhouettes that include mod dresses and sharp trousers. As evident if its title, the collection will smartly fuse the movie’s Parisian storyline with the girlish, fantastical story of Smurfette. In typical Smurf fashion, expect a lot of trippy tees, mix-matching and cool vibes from the collection.
Alongside a cast of characters voiced by Sofia Vergara, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jayma Mays to name a few, Katy Perry will lend her voice to Smurfette. We’ll be on the scene February 13 – so stay tuned!
