Because you can. Manolo Blahnik has donated an hour of his time to sip champagne in his New York boutique while sketching out a pair of custom shoes for you right before your eyes. Oh, it’s the stuff of fairy tales isn’t it? And amazingly enough, the proceeds from this auction will go directly to The CFDA & Vogue’s Fashion for Sandy Relief Initiative - an ongoing attempt to help out the communities hurt by the late October super storm projected to be more expensive than Hurricane Katrina.
As expected, this dream-like scenario can be yours with only an immense price tag (according to the site, the package has an estimated value of $20,000). Ending Thursday, the bid price is currently at $6,000, begging the next bid to be $6,500 or higher. While this is easily more than five times the the price tag of the most gorgeous Manolo Blahnik constructions, it IS a one of a kind experience after all, amazing charitable efforts aside.
