STILETTO STAMPEDE: Running in Heels for a Record

Broken heels? That’s what the thought of literally running in stilettos might have you envisioning, but instead of breaking shoes, legs or any other body parts for that matter, the ladies of Dallas, Texas are gathering in heel-clad masses to break records.

On May 24, 2012, FIAT and IdealHeel will be presenting the first annual Dallas Stiletto Stampede—a 100-yard high heel dash in aims to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the most people running in high heels at one time.

Created to educate men and women on overcoming the risks of breast cancer, the dash will also be donating proceeds to the Dallas County Affiliate of Susan G Komen for the Cure and rehab programs developed by the Stiletto Stampede organization.

After the stampede, which hopefully isn’t too accurate of a description, a Post Race Celebration at Tootsies, located at Preston Center, will include local treats, music, dancing and a silent auction.

If you live or plan to be in the Dallas area, you can register online for $100 at StilettoStampede.org and join the mission to create awareness. If you’re one of the first 1,000 to sign up you’ll receive a special edition pink stiletto from NChantment Shoes & Accessories.

So get ready, get set, and go join the cause! —APRILLE BROOKER AND LAUREN DOYLE
