RESORT 2012 TREND: Ladylike Lace

We saw a burst of lace on the fashion charts this past summer and it proved so popular that it’s set to run through to next season too. In order to keep your immaculately heeled Manolo’s ahead of your mates it’s time to look to the Resort collections to gather up intel on what’s available when the weather warms up.

If the big hitters like Chanel, Oscar de la Renta and Alexander McQueen were smitten by lace, you can rest assured that it will trickle on down through the design houses to the more affordable outlets within in no time.

How to Wear It: 

This time around think ladylike lengths – whilst seen above the knee on a few day dresses, there was more of a demure take on hemlines that befitted this feminine fabric. If you spot a piece that you fall in love with, be sure to test how sheer it is before you purchase to ensure your modesty stays in tact. If it’s positively see through and still has that ‘must have’ feel, stop by the lingerie department and pick up some under pinning’s to avoid any blush-tastic moments. —SARA DELANEY
