FALL 2011 TREND: Sumptuous Suede
I’m all for the leather trend that’s popping up in stores as the Fall/Winter merchandise hits this month, but have you ever tried to wear a leather dress all day? It’s nigh on impossible to maintain the requisite ‘rock star’ attitude that goes with the territory whilst sporting your calf skin, so here’s an idea for an equally sumptuous fabric that’s much easier to pull off (literally), and that’s gotta be suede.
All together the softer sista of this season’s skin epidemic—think A line tunics at Hermes, top-to-toe caramel tones at Akris and retro chic at Jean Paul Gaultier.
How to Wear It:
Opt for classic neutrals if you are eyeing up an investment piece – it will take you through the next few seasons for sure. Or work your inner 70’s diva and grab something jewel toned that nails a bunch of trends in one. —SARA DELANEY
