The countdown to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has begun, and among the many designer collections we highly anticipate drooling over is that of the lovely Rebecca Taylor.

It goes without saying that we can always count on Taylor for the season’s chicest, casual feminine pieces with a hint of sparkle or flirty frill. Her ready-to-wear collections remain modern, yet playful, and we will surely see nothing less from her in the coming season.

For Spring 2012, expect a fresh and ethereal take on the contemporary Taylor aesthetic. Cropped slouchy embellished sweaters paired with long skirts fuse for a paired down cool attitude, while voluminous outerwear in technical fabrics will add edge to delicate silhouettes.

Emphasizing cut and color, unexpected cut-outs will make an appearance on the runway alongside oyster-shaded garments with bold citrus pops of lemon, lime and tangerine. Apron back dresses with bone-colored snake leather bibs will complete the collection, echoing a relaxed, exotic vibe for spring.
