TALKING SHOES with Jeffrey Campbell
We touched base with Bridgette Bayley, director of marketing for Jeffrey Campbell footwear, to get the scoop on their new capsule collections and must have JC styles for spring.
Tell us about the new capsule collections that you have started to release. The bloggers LOVE small concept collections and campaigns! The hype around each story is so much fun for us to promote, and keeps the momentum going on the web. Most importantly, we want to keep our JC girls happy that show us love on their personal sites. We always want to have something new for them to love!
How do you ensure that you keep your product assortment fresh and innovative each season? We work very close to season and are constantly creating. Every day we send things in to be made for the current season. We are also not afraid to have friends, family, and customers give their input. This makes for a well rounded collection!
Name a spring shoe from your collection that every woman should have. It is clear–every woman MUST own the skate, our architectural “furniture” ice skate dream wedge. An everyday shoe to wear to the super market, the gym, church…
What new materials did you experiment with this season? For Spring we went heavy with the canvas and espadrilles! We also experimented with denim, something that has been known to never sell, but is finally proving well for us this season!
What is the highest heel you have ever produced? Wow! In the history of my time at JC, the highest shoe we have made is actually a platform lace up shoe. It must be more than 7 inches tall!
