Tell us about your design concept. My design concept is to be able to create wearable luxury art for your feet that are not only comfortable but that are a marriage of both architecture and soul.

What is the first shoe you ever designed? My first shoe was a high heeled mule that you could slip into. It was black with metal and a Swarovski crystal flower motif that went across the upper with baby crystals that went around the front of the platform. It was super sexy and had a rock n’ roll edge to it.

What type of shoes are you the happiest wearing? Mine of course!

All of your designs seem incredibly rich. Do you use the same type of leather to create all of your shoes? Yes. Everything is designed with vegetable tanned Italian leathers that have various textures and subtleties to them.

Where have you been that has influenced your design inspiration more than ever? I’d have to say that for my signature stud work – it would have to be Italy with all of their architecture, rod irons, gates, wood doors and cobblestone streets. As for lifestyle – Los Angeles has been a great inspiration for its casual chic environment.
