The Runway, Your Way: Resort

Footwear seen on the runway can make us ooh and aah, but when it comes to the price tag, we tend to make a noise that sounds more like a gasp. Running with Heels decided to take four styles from the resort runways and convert them into more approachable, affordable, and wearable versions for the average fashionista. Remarkably, black and white shoes were a popular choice for resort across the board, which means that you'll get even more bang for you buck, being able to wear these styles continuing into the spring and even the fall.

Harajuku Lovers Ida T-Strap Platform, $99.95
The t-strap is hot hot hot this season! Our find above is in a classic black and white color combination, which would be day-appropriate paired with trouser leg denim or black plants, or step out in a bondage-inspired knit skirt and opaque tights for night.

Our Version:
Westfalen Oxford Bootie, $138
Although the oxford bootie/pump has been around for several seasons, there's something about it in a shade of white that is immediately refreshing. We like the idea of pairing it with contrasting tights, or for a real Granny-chic quirky look, try it with some knee-highs.
Runway Version:
Chanel

Our Version:
Onex Rock-On Sandal, $139
Our version has a bit of extra bling on it, but besides that, it's practically a dead-ringer for the Chanel style. If you are heading for a tropical local, pairing them with slightly puffed, pleated, cuffed shorts or a denim mini is the way to go. It never hurts to match a dramatic shoe with an lbd either.
Runway Version:
Oscar de la Renta

Our Version:
Nine West Beaulah Heels, $119.95
The most important aspect of the de la Renta look is the black and white combination footwear done with clean, modern lines and a strap across the upper part of the arch. A shoe with interesting architectural details and contrast of color make the grade for staying on-par with the runway aesthetic.
