A Night to Remember: FFANY Shoes on Sale
Last night’s 16th annual FFANY Shoes on Sale gala not only successfully brought the Footwear Industry together for a great cause, it raised thousands of dollars for breast cancer research and was one heck of a party in the event’s first year at the Frederick P. Rose Hall Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Jessica Simpson was this year’s spokesperson and the notable celebrity draw of the evening and she arrived with best friend and hairstylist Ken Paves in tow and gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti heels on her feet. Other celebrity attendees included Daytime TV star Linda Dano, Ugly Betty’s Mark Indelicato, Royal Pains actress Reshma Shetty, and Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szor.
Guests mingled with one another, sipped cocktails and snacked on tasty hors d’oeuvres while a jazz band played in the background, but for many the real excitement of the night was happening in the Shoe Salon. This little corner of heaven was where shoes from over 40 brands including Stuart Weitzman, Valentino, Tory Burch, Giuseppe Zanotti, and so many more were on sale at half price. Not surprisingly, a crowd made up mostly of women was shopping enthusiastically throughout the night, with more than a few leaving with a bounty of shoe boxes tucked under each arm. And this was no bargain-basement setup with styles from seasons past hoping to be taken home. On the contrary, there was everything from luxe riding boots to sparkly dress shoes and platform heels to chic ballet flats. Trust me, these shoes made some very lucky ladies extremely happy and will be getting plenty of use in the days and weeks to come.
But all this shopping goodness won’t end when the joy of getting a designer shoe steal wears off and heels have been broken in. That’s because all proceeds from the night’s ticket sales and shoe salon purchases will go to breast cancer research. In fact, the funds last night will add to the over 30 million dollars already raised since the inception of FFANY Shoes on Sale.
