Phillip Lim to Release Fall Footwear!

Phillip Lim, the hardworking designer behind casually-fashionable clothing line 3.1 Phillip Lim, is blazing new trails  this summer. He will be adding shoes, lingerie and swimwear to his brand. That's right, we said shoes!

This fall he will be soft-launching shoes in his flagship stores before being made available to wholesale accounts for Spring 2010 and Fall 2009 respectively, according to Coutorture.com.

Lim describes the swimwear and intimates line as girly and playful. The collections will be available worldwide in 2010, but for right now they  are only on sale in Phillip Lim boutiques.

With his past collaborators including Birkenstock, Nicholas Kirkwood, and Christian Louboutin, Lim is not foreign to the footwear market. His line of shoes will feature sensible styles between $290 and $675, according to stylecaster.com

Lim says he focused on creating practical designs for his footwear, and calls them "working shoes that are sophisticated and beautiful", according to fabsugar.com. The line seriously emphasises flats, stacked heels and wedges. One of the more notable shoes from the collection are giraffe-skin booties.

Lim seems very confident in his footwear collection, and we're confident we're going to love it!
