La Canadienne Winter Boot Giveaway!
The holidays may be over but alas, we're not out of Winter's frosty grip yet. In fact, if you're residing in the northern part of the country you're painfully aware that this bitter season has really only just begun…
This time of year isn't all bad though; it's an excuse to hunker down with warm comfort food and to cuddle up under thick, cozy blankets with loved ones. The difficult part comes when we have to leave the warmth of the well-heated indoors. As if thick, cumbersome coats weren't bad enough, which one of us really wants to have to strap on clunky snow boots every time we step outside? Unfortunately, when it comes to suitable Winter shoes we're often faced with very limited options and weather-proof footwear tends to be so dishearteningly un-chic.
Until now.
Leave it to a brand developed in Montreal, Canada to create a line of boots that will not only withstand the worst of winter's elements, but truly conquer them…and do it in style. The brand is La Canadienne, and each of their boots is designed to be comfortable, breathable, and waterproof. Oh, and did we mention fashionable?
Yup, that means no snow, slush, or freezing water is finding its way inside to your warm little piggies. On top of that, they manage to be incredibly attractive yet low maintenance, (something I'm sure many of the men in our lives would certainly appreciate!). To top it all off, luxury and quality are key components to all of La Canadienne's footwear. The entire La Canadienne line is hand-crafted in both Italy and Canada and feature only the best of materials, like buttery soft Italian leathers. The breathability and comfort features are icing on the cake.

Really, it's about time someone intertwined fashion and function like this. Don't get me wrong, I love a pair of Hunter boots as much as the next girl, but they're certainly never going to win any fashion awards. And if you're headed somewhere like the office, then it means you have to go to the trouble of carrying a nicer pair to change into. Show me a pair of high-heeled suede and patent waterproof boots that are comfortable too and SIGN ME UP.
We know this sounds too good to be true so we think you should have a chance to try a pair of La Canadienne boots out for yourself. This is why we're giving away one of five pairs of boots from the Fall/Winter collection Friday, January 23rd!
Here are the details:
Take a look at the five boots below and simply leave a comment at the end of this post telling us which style is your favorite and why. This will automatically enter you to win that pair*! And remember ladies, be creative and don't hold back! THE BEST ENTRY WINS.**
We choose the winner at 12 noon EST on Friday January 23rd so you must make sure to leave your comment by then to be eligible.

Allure: Shearling boots are a Winter style staple, but this sophisticated lace-up will have you looking like you're headed to the chalet instead of the supermarket.
The Allure is not only waterproof, it's lined in genuine shearling all the way to the toe. Talk about going the extra mile to keep you warm and cozy!
![]()
Pulley: Glossy patent leather and a riding boot silhouette means no-one has to know these weather-proof beauties are actually your snow and rain boots. (Although we're willing to bet you'd break them out on plenty of sunny days too!)
It's also notable that they come in Fall's favorite shades black, plum and grey.
![]()
Kara: With ultra-luxurious suede and an almost three inch heel, the Kara boot appears to be so much more fashion than function.
But don't let the good looks deceive you; lined with breathable microfiber and completely waterproof, they're designed for maximum comfort.
![]()
Dorina: Say ‘goodbye' to having to stash your heels in your purse before leaving home on wet or wintry days.
This waterproof boot's suede and patent leather combo topped off with a chic button detail on an almost 2 1/2" heel means there's no need to change shoes between home and your destination, whatever the weather.
![]()
Tahra: Sweet and sensible but certainly not lacking in style, the Tahra comes complete with broguing details and a sculpted heel so you'll be able to take on the elements in elegance. For the truly perfect fit, it features elastic goring at the top part of the shaft.
Along with buttery soft calfskin leather, it's also available in calf suede and features a breathable microfiber interior lining.
![]()
In the meantime, you can see the entire La Canadienne line at www.LaCanadienne.ca, or shop for them online at retailers like Nordstrom and Zappos.com.
GOOD LUCK!!!

The kara looks just awesome,
Stacked heel for comfort, but high enough to still be fashionable… plus stretchign microfiber to adapt well to most calfs… what else can we ask?
January 12th, 2009 at 11:14 am
The Dorina is definitely my favorite with both the suede and patent leather look all while being waterproof! I've been stashing my heels in my purse on the way to work but with the heel on this boot, there will be no need. These Montreal-made boots would be perfect for New England weather.
January 12th, 2009 at 11:22 am
It is goint to be difficult to pick a favorite…they are ALL stylish!
However, as I look out my window at the winter snow and ice this morning and contemplate crunching through the snow on my front walk on the way to the car, I would definitely pick the Allure! The fact that it is lined in shearling would make it a dream to snuggle into and wear to work, for play, and for serious snow! Plus, it looks great! Yes, I'd wear it everywhere!!
January 12th, 2009 at 11:56 am
The Allure would be the best fit for me. In the Midwest it is a winter wonderland if you are a positive person. Cold, slushy and ugly if you are not. Tromping around in a foot of snow, braving off chilling winds and snowplows one must be comfortable, warm and good looking. The Allure would become my boot of choice from walking to work, digging out my car and waiting seductively while the tow truck comes to pull my car out of the ditch.
January 12th, 2009 at 11:57 am
Kara is my favorite. I like the classic look.
January 12th, 2009 at 12:04 pm
I like Tahra because the heel won't kill my ankles as I run to San Francisco or New York City with my friend, Molly……can't wear those high heels anymore but still run and have fun and shop……..Attractive syling for casual or dress-up………I live in Arizona but travel to Chicago often…..boots aren't a luxury..they are a necessity there for 4 months of the year! TAHRA IS THE GOOD-LOOKING AND INTELLIGENT CHOICE FOR ME!!!!!!! yEAH.
January 12th, 2009 at 12:54 pm
wonderful contest!
I would choose the KARA,and i would be winning it for my wonderful daughter in law Julianna(julie). She had my 1st granddaughter last may,and i could never ask for a better mom to little miss charlize mae.Julie has been wanting a nice pair of boots but since little miss has been born she has bought herself nothing! She makes sure little miss has everything she needs and on one salary in their home, there's no money left for extra's.
The suede look and this 3 inch heel would look simply beautiful on julie. But with this beauty the functon is still there! It rains a lot here in the winter and the waterproof lining would be great along with being designed for maximum comfort, that would be great when she is toting little miss in her arms .
Please enter me ,i would love to be able to present these to Julie.

I really like the Allure, it looks so comfy and warm.
January 12th, 2009 at 5:45 pm
Oh Kara, cara mia. You are the perfect boot: tall, elegant, just a little aggressive with your little shiny platform and your beautiful matte suede shaft! The high heel perfect for crunching through the snow and ice, and walking confidently and dry-shod through the icy slushy snowy wintry streets. Betty would generously give them to her deserving daughter in law. I would keep them and wear them and flaunt them for years. I know how long la Canadienne boots last!
January 12th, 2009 at 6:01 pm
I LOVE the Tahara boots – just what the doctor prescribed for this winter!!!
January 12th, 2009 at 6:03 pm
Love the Tahra! The low heel and casual style makes them great for walking around.
January 12th, 2009 at 6:04 pm
Even though I love them all, if I had to choose I would have to pick the Allure boots because they look very warm and comfortable. This winter in Chicago has been awful and those boots would make the miserable days a little warmer and fun.
January 12th, 2009 at 6:05 pm
I love the look of the Tahra. They are a great work boot and a great boot to dress up a pair of jeans. I also love the warm and fuzziness of the Allure, but living in Texas, I wouldn't get to wear them as much.
January 12th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
Kara,Kara you belong on my feet, with your long slender calf, and your beautiful suede,we are the perfect match. I could wear you even in the rain and still look oh so sexy. With a mini skirt, jeans or pants you would be perfect.
January 12th, 2009 at 6:11 pm
How can the Tahra look so snuggly and sexy at the same time? She's an enigma, that shoe, and she'll go with anything from stovepipe jeans to a dirndl. Must have!
January 12th, 2009 at 6:12 pm
Tara is the boot for me living in Wisconsin. The heel height is perfect and it looks like a pair I can dress up or wear with a pair of jeans.
January 12th, 2009 at 6:16 pm
PULLEY wins for sure! Hits the riding boot trend and is in patent so it is a bit dressy and also trendy, not to mention functional for the tough weather here in NYC!
Would love to show these of on the streets of the city
Happy New Year
January 12th, 2009 at 6:17 pm
Ooh, tough call between Allure and Pulley. I like the idea of shoes that serve multiple purposes: patent serving the waterproof purpose, shearling boots that are also waterproof…, etc.
In the end, I would have to choose Allure. Waterproof, cute, warm (lined to the toe!). Perfect for the icy NYC streets (more to come this week).
And hey, 1/23's a big birthday year for me. Would love another gift to ease the pain.

January 12th, 2009 at 6:18 pm
I would pick Tahra- it's very beautiful, and versatile for a mom like me.
January 12th, 2009 at 6:22 pm
As a NYC Fashionista I would love to have the Dorina boots they look fabulous and chic just perfect with a pair of skinny jeans and a basic black bag and dont forget the right accessories. Keep it divalicious.
January 12th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
The Dorina is my favorite. I am constantly walking from the office to offsite meetings requiring me either to walk in heels or change shoes. These would be perfect for the snow/rain.
fyi… the links for the "larger images" do not all match up.
January 12th, 2009 at 6:34 pm
Allure, has style and grace.. You can take her shopping., walk your dog, go out too lunch with your boyfriend, walk in the park, where after skiing at the lodge.. Dress up with tucked in jeans and a fur coat! Walk in NYC!! And look stylish! Wear in the rain and brighten up everyones day. Don't forget you will be styling along with being warm and dry! Always should have a space for a stylish La canandiene boot in your fashionista closet!
Don't forget to travel with it, never leave home without it!!!!!
Stay true to fashion even on the coldest, snowy, and wets days!!!
January 12th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
I'd have to go with the Tahara. I like the heel height and overall multipurpose aspect of the boot because it looks like you could wear it with jeans or skirts. The eyelet detail on the top is a nice touch too.
January 12th, 2009 at 6:57 pm
Tahra is the only one that could survive in a climate with 180 inches of annual rain!
January 12th, 2009 at 6:59 pm
I love the Allure boot. I live in Green Bay Wi with lots of cold and snow. I have a golden retriever that loves to walk. These boots look great and must be cozy warm to handle the snow!!!! Sam and I could go out in any artic blast I wish they could be mine!!!!
January 12th, 2009 at 7:00 pm

January 12th, 2009 at 7:07 pm

Allure–I need these to survive the South Dakota winters, especially since I live in the country and have to travel no matter what I need to do.
January 12th, 2009 at 7:43 pm
Allure is my pick
If I don't win, I think I'll be sick
My toes will be toasty
My feet will be fine
But mostly, they will be mine
January 12th, 2009 at 8:07 pm
My favorite is Allure. With the shearling lining it would be very warm while trekking to work.
January 12th, 2009 at 8:25 pm
I love the Dorina boot. It's a great combo of practicality and style. The button on the top is too cute!
January 12th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
I like the allure, mainly because I have "fashion" boots, but none that look as warm and comfortable as those!
January 12th, 2009 at 8:53 pm
I love the Kara boots! As an executive assistant, they would fit well with my wardrobe and have the durability I need out of boots. All the running in and out of the office and all. LOL
January 12th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
I love the classic Pulley! A truly wear-it-anywhere boot, this style would transition beautifully between my many fashion moods and the patent sheen gives it just enough edge to be positively irrisistible. I would feel totally sassy in these!
January 12th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
I have been searching & searching for a very comfortable & very warm & cozy every day boot this winter, but haven't seemed to find the perfect one yet until I laid my eyes on The Allure! I know it will keep my feet warm & dry which is exactly what I'm looking for especially this winter with all the ice & snow we've been having here in the Chicagoland area. Plus, it's very stylish, too! This IS the PERFECT boot for me!
January 12th, 2009 at 10:37 pm
I like all the boots. However, Dorina is my fav.
I like the size of the heel and they are a bit dressier
than the other styles. Good quality and style, what more
could I ask for.
January 12th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
I love the Tahra pair! They remind me of Mary Poppins
January 12th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
I LOVE the Tahra boots. They're so cute and the detailing is so feminine! I would love to win this pair!
January 12th, 2009 at 11:11 pm
They're all cute, but I love the Dorina! It's nice to see a super-stylish winter boot. These would be perfect when the weather is nasty and I have to look good at work.
January 12th, 2009 at 11:27 pm
I love the Allure, very stylish and great for trips to the mountains.
January 12th, 2009 at 11:39 pm
I am in love with the Tahra. Probably more like lust, but I can call it love and still be happy. I am searched high and low for snow boots for my size 7.5 narrow feet, and it has been in vain. Oh, I have my snow boots, and gore-tex lined hiking boots. And I have sneakers and a cute little pair of kitten heels. But sexy snow boots? Dear me, am I lacking! And I love the dainty heels and leather detailing. Be still, my heart.
I'm newly in shape, my skin finally decided to clear up after 10 years of constant acne, and my boyfriend moves out here soon and we have to look at apartments in the cold. So, why the Tahra? Because nothing else would look better with my awesome new black jacket that I'm also coveting. And they look so comfy – the kind of boots you could walk around in all day without noticing and not fret over hurting yourself on the ice.
Comfort and style. I think it's time for both!
January 13th, 2009 at 12:16 am
I would love to wear any one of the five pair, but since skiing is one thing I enjoy, the Allure would for sure be warm and would keep my feet dry. Plus I like the looks of the boot.
January 13th, 2009 at 3:08 am
The Kara is my favorite, it looks classy and comfortable at the same time. It has a heel which makes a boot more sexy and less industrial yet they still look like they woudl be comfortable to wear. I can see this boot easily with pants or a skirt. And waterproof is an extra bonus.
January 13th, 2009 at 5:21 am
Tahara boots are so unique
God bless
January 13th, 2009 at 7:08 am
I'm going to have to say the Pulley, I live in horse country.
January 13th, 2009 at 8:45 am
I love the look of the Kara! I've been dying to have a pair of suede boots and I'm a sucker for the tall heel. The fact that they're waterproof would come in handy in the slush! I can't wait to get these on my feet!
January 13th, 2009 at 9:29 am
I would absolutely love the Allure boots!! They are the most amazing boots I have seen! I am in desperate need of a great pair of winter boots. I recently moved into my first big-girl apartment with my little dog. We live in a downtown area so I have to walk her everyday. My boots are soaking wet by the time we get back. Living in the Michigan, the snow never stops, especially living close to lake Michigan. I promise to take good care of the boots and plus it would give me a chance to get to know this wonderful brand and tell all my friends! Thank you for such a wonderful contest!
January 13th, 2009 at 9:32 am
Wow! All of these boots are gorgeous! Love the Pulley boot, but I could really use the Kara style boot. It's beautiful, functional, and so fashionable.
January 13th, 2009 at 9:38 am
I was immediately drawn to the Kara boot for the style. Now that I know it's completely weather proof, I absolutely MUST have them!
January 13th, 2009 at 10:01 am
I tried to make myself say one of those cute ones with heels but I know I wouldn't wear them. So, honestly the Allure is my favorite because it is adorable and looks comfy and I could live in it.
January 13th, 2009 at 10:07 am
They are all gorgeous, but my absolute favorite is the Dorina!
Despite being from an island where all seasons but summer are mild, I always end up living in places where it's freezing cold in winter and it snows a lot. Right now it's NY, before that it was Switzerland, before that it was Denmark. And yet, when winter comes, and with it the snow, sleet and freezing temperatures, I always find myself unprepared on the shoe front. I think that both the fashionista and the "island girl" in me simply refuse to go into full "winter mode".
The Dorina is so fabulous, with the sleek shape and the patent accents, that I would love it even if it wasn't weather-proof. But with that advantage? The Dorina would allow me to enter winter mode without missing a beat
What's not to love?
January 13th, 2009 at 11:25 am
I love the Allure boot. Something warm AND stylish. Finally a cool boot that keeps you warm, doesn't look like a gift from Granny. Low sensible heel yet hip detailing. "These aren't your Mom's boots" Love it!
January 13th, 2009 at 11:42 am
The Allure. Stylish yet darling, come the Inauguration, those would make me fierce and fabulous!
January 13th, 2009 at 11:58 am
I love the Tahra – great style. Love that there's a heel but it's not too high.
January 13th, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Colorado winters are unpredictable, sun shining one minute the next a blizzard. The Allure would be fashionable and reliable in this type of weather! I would love wearing these with jeans and even skirts…you know Colorado you could wear these in the mountains as well as in downtown Denver. Just fab!
January 13th, 2009 at 12:14 pm
I love the Tahra style. It has a vintage look with a contemporary interpretation. The heel height is perfect for me.
January 13th, 2009 at 1:03 pm
ODE TO ALLURE
by Rachel
(in Haiku form)
Oh Winter Sexy
Yet Chasing Toddler Comfy
This Boot Must Be Mine!
The End.
January 13th, 2009 at 1:22 pm
thank you I can't to get a pair they look great and feel very great and look awsome as well.
January 13th, 2009 at 1:27 pm
Ooooooh I have a space for them in my closet! (Dear hubby don't read this…)I love the Kara it's rare that I find a beautiful boot that fits my skinny calves and one looks awesome. I really like them all but I guess I will pick the Kara and then go and shop for another pair…..What is a girl to do reason for shopping.
January 13th, 2009 at 2:29 pm
ALLURE is my favorite style! It is warm, and I love the shearling in it, and the low heal. I live in Upstate New York where we have brutal winters, and sub zero temps… I am in and out a lot, and these boots are PERFECT for both the climate that I live in, and my personal style!
January 13th, 2009 at 3:57 pm
When stepping out in nasty weather,
most gals forgo their nicest leather.
But Tahra, a model for all cobblers,
protects the toes of mothers and daughters.
As shapely as a Degas sculpture,
this boot has graceful touches, such as
the broguing details, like the trim of a cake,
or the sexy heel, which men will love as much as
my curves. Above all, these shoes exude haute couture
but will not make this teacher's poor feet ache.
January 13th, 2009 at 4:51 pm
I love the Tahra boot! I am a big fan of the old-fashioned look and the cute heel, and I imagine all of the outfits of mine that would go perfectly with it. I live in Minnesota, and feel that the proper footwear for the weather is very important. Without boots like this, I have to choose either fashion and cold feet or comfort and warmth when I leave the house in the winter. Wouldn't it be nice not to have to make that choice?
January 13th, 2009 at 4:55 pm
Allure has the comfort that I seek,
Being waterproof, cozy and oh so chic.
La Canadienne quality knows no bounds,
Whether running with heels or walking with hounds!
January 13th, 2009 at 5:57 pm
I like the Kara. I love suede boots but can never wear them on bad days. A waterproof suede boot? What could be better!
January 13th, 2009 at 6:11 pm
I love the Kara! It would look great with a nice skirt or even some nice jeans. It goes great with everyday wear and I love the heel. It is a very classy shoe, I love it
January 13th, 2009 at 6:15 pm
Allure!!! Totally stylish!!! I love them!!!

I vote for Allure. I would pass them on to my daughter who would find them perfect when she's trudging thru the snow-filled streets of Rochester, NY (she's a grad student at the Eastman School of Music).
January 13th, 2009 at 7:11 pm
Tahra is definitely my favorite.
The black leather is edgy and chic but the brogue detail adds a feminine vibe.
These boots would complete any outfit and bring it to perfection, be it a dress or a pair of jeans.
The shape of the heel is likewise to die for – high enough to be fashionable but low enough to be comfortable.
January 13th, 2009 at 11:32 pm
The Allure's warm shearling lining calls out to my little piggies, "I'll keep you warm when you go to the market! And little piggy, you don't need to stay home. No winter cold will cross through this boot to freeze you!"
January 14th, 2009 at 12:06 am
Oh Kara, you are definitely the boot for me. You have great style and a nice heel and you match most of my clothes. I would love taking you out in the Chicago winters!
January 14th, 2009 at 12:23 pm
Pulley is pulley cool. I cannot own enough patent leather to satisfy my craving for shiny black accessories. A pair of La Canadienne boots would certainly make me Pulley happy.
January 14th, 2009 at 1:31 pm
Kara……….gorgeous and practical too!!!!
January 14th, 2009 at 4:38 pm
As a winter blizzard and sub zero temperatures approach in the Midwest, the Allure would be the best one for me. They look really warm and I love the fact that they are waterproof. (Kara runs a close second for looks and features, too.)
January 14th, 2009 at 4:53 pm
Love the Dorina boot. The slightly chunky heel is lots of fun and the height of the boot makes it great for wearing with short or long skirs/dresses. I really like the added detail of the botton at the top.
January 14th, 2009 at 5:52 pm
They all look wonderful.
January 14th, 2009 at 5:56 pm
I love the Tahra and the Allure!! I would choose the Allure because they look incredibly soft, warm and comfy and would be perfect for ALL the walking we do in NY!!
January 14th, 2009 at 5:58 pm
I adore the Dorina boots. With that kicky little heels and sassy little button I would be the envy of the neighborhood, the neighborhood that still has 2 feet of snow I might add. All my poor little toes have to keep warm in now are my thickest socks and a pair of canvas slides. Too sad! Please tell my toes you love them by picking me (and my toes) to win this incredible prize! If I win I can stop harassing my landlord to shovel our driveway.
January 14th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
The Allure Boot!
They are just what a gal needs who is going to kick start her life and stay warm and toasty while doing just that!
January 14th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
The Dorina is aDORable! Chic and practical all in one package! They are the perfect heel-height to be worn with those in-between-length jeans that go with heels or flats; plus they are perfectly stylish for skirts and dresses. These boots will get me through the rest of winter and are the perfect transition for spring & fall.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
I love the Dorina! I wear black all the time and I love a good boot that fits many purposes – fashion and function.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
Dorina boots are so cute and chic! I love the kitten heels and the two-side look of the boots. It will be so terrific with jeans and skirts, work or play!
January 14th, 2009 at 11:56 pm
Oh the allure of Allure!
Mom on the go I am
Trudging through sleet and snow, oh man!
These waterproof boots with their lining so cozy
I'll be the envy of all who know me
Wife to a geat guy I will be
When wearing these boots oh the thoughts I'll inspire
In only these beautiful boots sipping wine by the fire
January 15th, 2009 at 1:44 am
It's all about the Kara boots for me. I love the flat black look of the suede and the high but thick heel. It's stable, sexy and goes with everything! If that's not enough, the fact that they are comfortable and waterproof make them a must have for any closet
January 15th, 2009 at 8:10 am
PERSONAL AD
MWF with two children (whom she should be getting ready for school about now, instead of playing on the computer), seeking a sexy, low heeled, fashionable, waterproof boot in a size 10.5 to enjoy long glamorous walks (to the mailbox or grocery store); must enjoy shopping (at Wal*mart, damn recession) and provide a comfortable lifestyle (for my aching bunions).
In return, I promise not to embarrass you by wearing you with “mom jeans”, trucker hats or the distraction of an embarrassing muffin top (all bulges will be safely secured in a pair of Spanx).
If you fit this description and your name is Dorina, please contact me asap for a new and exciting chapter of our lives!
Sincerely,
Fashion Sensei

[...] ladies over at Running With Heels are giving away a pair of fab new boots by La Canadienne. The great thing about them is that [...]
January 15th, 2009 at 3:43 pm
So many stylish boots to choose from. I really love the Dorina. You can never go wrong with black. The patent leather and suede combo is pure genius. And they are waterproof! Someone wake me up, am I dreaming? They are as cute as a button!

My favorite is ALLURE. Why? Because there is no heel, stylish and overall…….comfortable! Boots with tucked in jeans are all the rage. But I still cant get into the trend. I love the feeling of my warmth of my feet. And that warmth can radiate to the rest of my body. You dont have to worry about your back hurting by the end of a long day since the soles are flat. With most people working 9-5, m-f, why not slip in to something comfortable on your days off???
January 16th, 2009 at 9:32 am
The Dorina boot is simply adorable. Who wouldn't love me in these "knock em dead" boots? When I schlep out of the house carrying my briefcase, purse, portfolio, son, diaper bag, and my son's 5 Thomas trains, I won't need to worry about slipping, having cold tootsies, or looking like a fashion faux pa. Then when I arrive at my son's daycare and have to carry him, his diaper bag and 5 trains up the Mt. Kilamanjaro hill to the front door, I'll look fabulous. Then it's off to work for me, where I'll park my SUV in the parking garage and promenade in my fancy new boots to my regular job. Everyone will talk about me as they'll certainly think I received a promotion to be able to have such stylish boots.
My only fear is that when I wear them…others will gawk and I might cause an accident.
I'll be careful, I promise!
January 16th, 2009 at 8:58 pm
I love the Kara boot. Its a beautiful yet classic style and can be worn all year long. Gotta love that. Allure is a close second for me. last year a weather proof boot would have came in handy in the Colorado weather.
January 17th, 2009 at 1:42 am
The Tahra is my favorite. Why? Well, because it's the one that speaks to me.
Literally.
I can hear it whispering to me through my laptop speakers as I type. It says "I am an incredibly cute boot! You could wear me anywhere, including to Church and not only would I keep the ridiculously deep snow off your feet I'd make you look great."
"Why, yes! That's true!" I agree.
Then comes more whispering: "In fact, I'm so dang cute that I'll draw so much attention no one will notice your poofy postpartum belly and the baby weight you still need to lose."
Then I make a pouty face because it was just rude to point that out…even if it is true.
January 17th, 2009 at 10:32 am
I believe a girl must look fab at all times and taking her two Newfoundland dogs for strolls in the middle of winter is no exception. My Newfs get all the attention wherever we go. People, especially ladies, stop me on the streets to hug my dogs. I am sure if I wore a pair of cozy, stylish and all around gorgeous Allure Boots, I will be the one getting the hugs and all the attention for a change!
January 17th, 2009 at 4:53 pm
The ALLURE caught my eye. This latest bout of winter like weather in spring has me seriously thinking of either hibernating or migrating.
January 17th, 2009 at 5:41 pm
I'd love the Kara boots- The weather where I live is perenially warm, and no one dares to wear boots. I want to dare and wear a pair! Who says you can't wear boots in warm climates?
January 17th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
Bully for Pulley! Great shine, perfect heel, and so right for the slush and mush of a Michigan winter. What a bright spot it would make in my busy day to slip these on in the exotic plum color! Patently perfect…
January 17th, 2009 at 6:59 pm
The Dorina is definitely my favorite! It has the cute button, that adds a little extra and a low heel, so that I am not towering over the guys! I love suede and leather together…one of my favs of the year!
January 17th, 2009 at 7:04 pm
Tahra-Love Them
Three Booth Theme:
A. Sunday Morning- Church Boots with a classy black skirt and white blouse, (mommy loves them)
B. Monday-Friday- work boots tuck in my jeans with a black lace blouse. (Styling 7:30-3:30)
C. Satruday Nite- Date Night- with a purple shirt dress along with some black leather tights and a cocktail pinky ring.
The all purpose/occasion boots!
January 18th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
I searched up
I searched down
I searched all around
But I still have not found my one and only boot to go to town
I want you because
Its cold
Its gloomy
But I bet with you on I will be extremely giddy
Walking in the snow, on the concrete floor
Crackling, splashing,
I bet you will still look like new
Tahra you are sweet and sensible and so fashionably fun
Warm and cozy I will be when I finally wear you on my two feet
January 19th, 2009 at 7:46 pm
I love the Allure pair! These boots look made for walking and that's just what I'd do (if i won of course) One of these days(someone)will get to walk all over you (with a great pair of new kicks!) Hopefully me!!
I love these boots because they don't have a heel first off(I don't do heels well!) I also love that they are waterproof!! I hope I win! I'm getting tired of these tennis shoes!
Thanks for the chance!
January 19th, 2009 at 8:11 pm
Allure is my favorite because I love warm shearling. I walk a lot in the winter and my feet always get freezing cold and the shearling would keep them warm, plus the Allure is waterproof.

I definitely think the Pulley is the most functional for the slippery and snowy conditions. For the few times we get snow in the NW, a good heel is worth it. It give a good edge to dig in. The shiny exterior will make any guy's head turn, while the riding style goes from office to evening with the blink of an eye.
January 20th, 2009 at 10:57 pm
The Allure is all me. Running around in the winter months with my kids in something like this instead of tennis shoes would be a dream. The hip style would make me a "cool Mom" at the school. I am all about comfort.
January 21st, 2009 at 11:22 am
I love the Allure! It is cute but looks comfy and practical too – the best of, well, three worlds I guess! I hate having to bring my shoes to work with me and change out of my boots in order to avoid soggy, wet feet all day. I'd love to have a pair of boots that solved that problem!
January 21st, 2009 at 11:26 am
The allure is my favorite for this season. Great style and warmth!
January 21st, 2009 at 11:32 am
I am taken with the Dorina boot. They are very MOD with the suede and patent leather together and the big button is the perfect touch. And being that they can handle inclement weather, I would be singing in the rain!
January 21st, 2009 at 11:53 am
Dorina is definitely my favorite. Being a social worker means not always getting to wear my favorite pair of shoes to work as I'm walking (and often running!) at all points throughout the day. Due to this, the need for comfort often wins out over the desire to dress with snazzy shoes (in addition to a salary that makes the possibility of paying $200+ for shoes out of the question). I think social workers are often thought of as having poor style sense due mainly for their need for comfort and stylish (with affordable price) all mixed together. Winning Dorina would definitely help me to turn that image around – at least in my place of employment!
January 21st, 2009 at 11:57 am
Tahra – the name just has a nice ring to it – and it is
perfect for such a chic boot. In fact, this is "the boot" I have been searching for this winter. Here in Colorado, we usually get 400 inches of snow each winter and this boot's heel is just right for walking, still being stylish and warm, and yet pracical in all this snow. Thanks for making it.
January 21st, 2009 at 1:27 pm
I just love the Pulley. It would just do so much to dress
up my new Black All Weather coat I received for Christmas.
I have been looking for boots that would compliment the coat. These surely would do that. I love the style of the
riding boot and the low heel.
January 21st, 2009 at 2:09 pm
Dorina is the perfect match to my Boston winter needs. With this year's snow, ice and resulting slush never really leaving the streets, galoshes seem more and more frequently to be a key accessory. I wish it were not so!
The Dorina boots are the perfect not-to-high cut for my shorter stature, and the heel shape and height are an ideal match for both the daily, slippery trek uphill to my apartment, and for a walk across the city for a night out.
January 21st, 2009 at 2:11 pm
I like the Dorina boots.

January 21st, 2009 at 4:27 pm
I love the Dorina, with the combination of suede, and patent leather, you can still look stylish in a practical boot.
January 21st, 2009 at 5:00 pm
I really, really love the Tahra.
First off, I never win anything.
Secondly, I can't walk in high heels. I've tried, and I can't. Let alone when the weather is inclement. The weather is often inclement during the winter in NYC – the sidewalks become treacherous with snow and ice and salt, yet my job still requires me to look sharp and professional. The Tahra boots are the perfect combination of classy and elegant kitten heel with sexy boot – comfortable, walkable, but tremendously stylish. They would do it for me.
Thirdly, I have no winter boots right now. I bought a pair of all-weather winter boots last year – my first pair, an outrageously ugly pair that were the only ones available at my local department store. I needed them for a job interview in Rochester. I didn't get the job and I promptly threw the boots out. As much as I hated those boots, my feet and legs have been cold since.
Finally, those boots are absolutely adorable.
January 21st, 2009 at 7:43 pm
i am old and my feet are cold.
I need Tahra and re; this website, I am 'sold'.
January 21st, 2009 at 8:34 pm
Dorina is sexy and sassy. I could live in this boot! The heel says "I want to look good even if it is snowing," the button says "I'm adorable," and Canadienne says "I'm smart." What more could a girl want in a boot?
January 21st, 2009 at 11:43 pm
I'd say my favourite will be the pulley boots because not only they look gorgeous but the glossy patent makes it flexible to use from day til night. sun or cloud…or rain.
This pair would be the perfect footwear for vancouver weather. when you live in vancouver, you will need to bring 2 pairs of shoes almost everyday. one for the rain and one for the sun.weather here changes every few hours or so.
it's what you call "hassle-free yet style jury free!"
PULLEY definitely calls my name!
January 22nd, 2009 at 1:00 am
I love all of the boots! My favorite is Allure. I don't have anything like it! I would like to wear those as a new stay at home mom! It doesn't get very cold where I am from but I love to travel!
January 22nd, 2009 at 4:21 am
Dorina – Just change two letters and you will have my name!
Should there be more proof given that those shoes need be MINE!
The contrast of the suede and the patent leather completely reflects my personality, with the little kitten heel giving me the extra umph I need!
Moreover, my favorite childhood passtime was playing with the various buttons my grandmother had in her sewing kit!
January 22nd, 2009 at 4:26 am
I love the Pulley boots! Basically, I am a fashion blogger, and I want to do more outfit posts (posts of pictures of what I'm wearing, in hopes of inspiring outfit ideas in others), yet I have no waterproof or winterproof boots! And I live in Ohio, where there is currently over a foot of snow on the ground, so I need fashionable boots to wear to show my readers that it is possible to be both fashionable AND weatherproof. Oh, and I'm in college on full financial aid, so I don't have enough money to buy my own! Otherwise, I'd be all over these boots! Thanks so much for the chance, and listening to my pity-party
January 22nd, 2009 at 10:22 am
Hello Dorina, how are you doing?
Heels? Check.
Waterproof? Check.
I'm a small Asian girl who lives in a ridiculously snowy state. Those two things are important when I consider winter shoes- my normal heels aren't exactly waterproof, but my waterproof shoes aren't stylish at all. These are special- they don't look like every other Ugg-inspired waterproof winter boot. They're different. Like me.
January 22nd, 2009 at 11:19 am
I like all of the boots – but I have to say I think the Allure is my fav. They would be much appreciated for a ski vacation that I have coming up!
January 22nd, 2009 at 11:24 am
The Tahra is by far my favorite boot of the lot. The slight feminine detailing evokes the memories of my maryjanes of youth, the reasonable heel means I can run all day without regretting my choice of footwear, and the waterproof lining is practical and adds warmth. They're super sexy and I would be honored to don such a stylish and imaginative boot.
January 22nd, 2009 at 11:25 am
Tahra:
Love the classic styling and versatility. I can take it from work to a more casual setting. LOVE IT
January 22nd, 2009 at 11:25 am
In Texas it doesn't get very cold, but that doesn't mean I can't sport some winter style in the rugged yet sophisticated Allure. The boots might be the one key accessory that finally convinces my husband to take the family to the slopes this winter. How cute would I look in the snow bundled up in my La Canadienne Boots!? My love…the Allure…
January 22nd, 2009 at 11:27 am
Here's a joke for you: You know you live in Michigan when it's 26 degrees out and you say "Wow! It's warm out here!" Since Michigan in January is so cold, my favorite is the Allure. Okay, all of them are great, but I was begininng to think that warm boots that were also cute were as much an urban legend as Louboutin Mary Janes!
January 22nd, 2009 at 11:35 am
@Barbara
Try living in toronto lately… I'm doubling and triple layering these days so I know what you mean. I walked outside at 7am this morning and thought, "its kinda nice out today" and sure enough it was something like -17 degrees. (sorry not sure what the Fahrenheit is on that)
January 22nd, 2009 at 11:38 am
Everyone tells me that I have pretty, delicate feet. How can I possibly make it thru winter without a new pair of boots? I just HAVE to have the Dorina boots. They would go perfectly with a pair of leather/cloth pants that I have.
January 22nd, 2009 at 11:56 am
Kara, Kara, Kara!! How can you not love these? The combo of a high heel and stacked platform make these irresistible. I love the brown suede
January 22nd, 2009 at 11:58 am
My mom really wants the Allure boots. She even e-mailed me about them. She deserves something cozy with all the snow she shovels.
January 22nd, 2009 at 12:09 pm
Kara looks gorgeous AND practical since you could dress them up or down. Perfect for skirts or even hidden under jeans. I would love to try them out!
January 22nd, 2009 at 12:12 pm
I'm LOVIN' the Dorina! A little bit suede….a little bit leather…….best of both worlds! Very versatile–can be used with jeans or a business suit and look fashionable and elegant at all times! How special it would be to own these Canadian-made boots, since I am one-half Canadian!
January 22nd, 2009 at 12:15 pm
I love Allure! They are perfect for this cold winter we are having in Connecticut!
January 22nd, 2009 at 12:25 pm
Tahra is my the one I like I mean love the best. The detail is is is truly amazing. I love the fact that the hill is not to high but yet you could still wear it with a pair of jeans, dress, or even slack. These would look nice with anything. I work with kids all day and have to dress nice and still be confortable and these look like they would be.
January 22nd, 2009 at 1:52 pm
Allure, definitely. The low heel and casual shearling style will carry any "Alice" lipstick lover anywhere her heart desires!
January 22nd, 2009 at 2:27 pm
A girl from Montana who rides English-style equestrian would not be able to find a more fitting boot than the PULLEY! The boot fits many facets of my lifestyle, even the seemingly unknown ones- my favorite color is purple (AKA PLUM!)
Driving to the barn in the winter can sometimes be a difficult feat especially since now, I carry my riding boots in the back and drive with my in-house moccasins on. Immediately upon arriving at the stables, I slide my "mocc's" off (so they don't get muddy) and run with haste to the trunk of my car where I can retrieve my boots! I believe that this entire makeshift session of not bringing the barn into my car could be completely subsided if I had the PULLEY boots! I could wear them in my car, walk back to my trunk, pull out my riding boots, bring my boots into the barn and change into them, and IF, just IF, my PULLEY boots get dirty- I can hose them off with water because they are perfectly WATERPROOF!
Oh… And not to mention that the color (PLUM) matches perfectly with my fawn riding pants, purple-checked scarf, and silver coat
.
I hope that I am able to win these boots! They sure would be a wonderful and perfectly matched present for me!
Thank you! Have a great day!
Tara

4 words…
SUEDE is the best!!!!
Kara is by far and away my favorite style boots. Any winter boot in suede that can make me 3" taller, look fashionable, and make me feel better about myself during the yucky-ness that is winter deserves major kudos!
January 22nd, 2009 at 3:32 pm
Kara- looks so wonderfully stylish. I cant beleive they're comfortable on top of that. they're the perfect boots to make me look taller (normal height) and finally I can stop covering my feet with bandages, trying to wear cute shoes!
January 22nd, 2009 at 3:42 pm
i love the Kara! they're just gorgeous. 3 inch heels, suede, fashionable, + comfort! What more can you ask? These are a pair I desperately need, running from place to place during work. Lovely shoes that wont kill your feet! Now I dont have to stuff my shoes with those sponge heels. They're a keeper!!
January 22nd, 2009 at 3:51 pm
Tahra are the best! I just love the details, they'll look awesome with anything I wear- a pair of jeans or skirt. These are great for casual look or elegant sophisticated look. With the way they look and how great they must feel, I'll prolly rock them even at home.
January 22nd, 2009 at 4:18 pm
Kara boots for sure. They are fashionable yet practical, just like me! Suede is ultra classy and the waterproof nature of the boots means that I can rest easy about my feet getting wet and cold in these rainy months. For me, the higher the heel the better, and I can picture myself strolling down the streets of San Francisco, wearing my heavy coat and the boots with just a little bit of leg showing in the space between the two, leaving it to the imagination of the men staring at me just what else is hidden beneath that coat.

Allure, Allure, Allure..They are just what they are named alluring!!!!I've come through 2 weeks of minus 20 weather on top of a bus strike. The Allures look cozy, warm, comfortable and are absolutely charming. I feel like I could wear them forever, never tire of them! They're fun, sporty, pretty, stylish and waterproof…you're kidding me?, what more could I want?
January 22nd, 2009 at 8:58 pm
I needed a place to stash my shoes,
and the smallness of my room gave me the blues!
So this winter instead of a regular Christmas tree,
I got a shoe tree from my sister Leigh.
My fashion tree is made entirely of metal,
and it is now where all of my shoes currently settle.
It has room for just one more pair to make the "tree" complete,
and for that place the Dorina boots sound really neat.
The little heel would be elegant and chic,
But also perfect since the sky often does leak.
They would be fun to run to my next college class,
And I would mention their name to everyone I pass.
This would make my tree look so cute,
and I would say thank you new boot!
My "Christmas tree" will now be up yer round,
And every morning I would know where my new boots are found.
The Dorina's would make me the envy of my friends,
Who are always trying to keep up with the latest trends.
So please consider picking me for the selection,
So I can continue to add to my shoe collection!
January 23rd, 2009 at 12:42 am
such a difficult pick as i really like them all. but right now i'd have to choose Allure just because it's cold here in MN and my current snow boots are ugly!
January 23rd, 2009 at 2:53 am
wanted: kara, 3 inch, black suede boots, size 7.
there's an empty space in my closet where you should be when you're not on my feet, keeping them warm yet stylish! you know how much i need you. i haven't been able to find
a fabulous pair of boots, boots that make me feel like a model, all 4'11" of me.
i promise to take care of you, better than the hubby or kids (if i had either!) if you'd only choose me! i promise to get pedicures weekly so my feet will be worthy of you, i will even promise not to wear sock/hose with runs or worse yet, holes!!
p.s. you know how much i covet anything black….black suede….mmmmmm!
January 23rd, 2009 at 10:28 am
Between my on-call status at work (no, Virginia, they don't plow the roads at 3am!) and walking my 4 dogs through "whatever" weather, the Pulley would shine – and I'd look and feel great!
January 23rd, 2009 at 12:02 pm
(Sing to the tune of theme song from Green Acres sitcom)
A-llure is the boot for me.
Waaarrm & dry is the life for me.
Toes spreadin' out so far and wide
Practical & stylish, just give me that comfort stride.
January 23rd, 2009 at 12:28 pm
love..love the Pulley…It's an ultra stylish boot that sets itself apart. It's simple but clearly not understated and I can see myself walking the pavement (not to hard, have to take care of the precious) of New York City, running errands, going to work or just relaxing with these boots.
Every gal needs to have a pair of fly patent leather boots..:)
