The Stylist's Guide To Gift-Giving: Part 1
Signature Gifts + Rockstar Accessories Giveaway!
Around the holidays, many people enjoy whipping up their famous signature dish and gathering the family around for a warm meal. Others may not be too keen on culinary arts, but love going out to show off their signature dance move! I, for one, am not an expert in the kitchen or on the dance floor, but I gladly offer up a signature gift as my forte instead.
These days, my favorite, signature item is a Couture Caddy purse hook from Rockstar Accessories. Super-chic, incredibly affordable, and available in a variety of styles, these purse hooks are my pick for the perfect, girly gift. As a nice gesture on their own, tied onto the bow of a larger present, or as part of a gift basket of goodies, they are functional, fun, and fabulous for women of all ages.
Never seen a purse hook in action? Essentially, they balance up to 20 pounds and keep your favorite handbags hanging from the table or bar rather than out of view on the back of your chair, or worse, on the filthy floor of a restaurant.
Rockstar Accessories has been kind enough to offer up 5 of their favorite purse hooks for Running With Heels readers to win*!
How to Enter: Submit a comment below telling us what your signature gift is by 12 PM EST, Thursday November 13th!
The 5 winners will be chosen at random at that time, so make sure you leave your comment by then to be eligible.
While we can't take requests, we can tell you that the five styles up for grabs are the Black Bling, Fuschia Bling, Red Czech Crystal, Black Czech Crystal, and White Czech Crystal hangers (Black Bling and White Crystal pictured below). Each hanger is valued at $10.99 (though based on the quality and design, you'd surely guess a whole lot more)!
Even if you already have one at home, enter to win a second purse hook to keep in another bag or give away for the holidays (ideal as a stocking stuffer, office swap, or Chanukkah gift)! I keep one in each of my favorite handbags to avoid the "sticky floor syndrome!"
Stay tuned for more great gift ideas and of course,
Stay Stylish,
Ally
*Contest open to U.S. residents only. I'm sorry, but we cannot ship outside the country!

I wish I had a "signature gift" — would make my life so much easier! But I do like giving small objects d'arts like trinket boxes or glass paperweights that none of my friends need, but all of them love when they open my gift. These purse hooks combine beauty and practicality — great idea!!

My signature gift is personalized stationary. I think that when you personalize something for someone it make them feel special.

Finger puppets! While decidedly not fabulous, they -are- irresistibly cute, for those who like cute. Starbucks had some adorable bunnies and sheep around Easter one year.

Hi Ally,
My signature gift always has special fun words attached.
So for example, one holiday season I gave my friends picture frames with
" My life wouldn't be complete without you in the picture"
It's fun for me to think of the words and sayings that go along with the gift.
All the best,
Laurie

My signature gift is hand painted martini glasses. I can always find one unique to the occasion. Not only are they fun to drink out of but they're adorable to collect and showcase also!

I would like to say my signature gift would be a purse size planner with a design or a little bling that fits the receiver…or a business card holer; but this purse hook is brilliant! It would be a nice bonus for a close friend in deed…I would not mind finding one in my stocking!

I love to give the "Finders Key Purse" jewelry. They attach to your key chain then hang over the side of your purse, briefcase, or backpack (making your keys easy to find).

I like to give a personalized item along with whatever else I'm giving. This year, I think I'm giving monogrammed cocktail shakers.

Handpainted glass nail files. They can be personalized for the individual, they are pretty and practical.

Love the idea of hanging my purse on one of these beautiful purse hooks….especially the "Fuschia Bling Purse Hook!" The past couple of years my signiture gifts to girlfriends & sisters has been a mini version of, "My Favorite Things!" I include items like: small lotions, chocolates, wine, etc. Now I think I may have to include a purse hanger(or)key holder from this stylist collection. They really do look more expensive that the actual price!
Thanks! Jennifer

My signature gift is anything that has to do with shoes, and pretty feet. I have over 300 pairs of shoes (mostly sandals!) and when people (including my husband and kids!) give me a gift, it is usually shoe related! the best one though, is a signature pedicure at my favorite spa!

For many years my signature baby gift has been handknitted sweaters. I have made 100s of them. I have received some of the sweetest thank you notes. The mother's often cry because they say no one gives hand made gifts anymore. In fact someone I made a sweater for about 15 or 16 years ago told one of my friends only last week that she still has the sweater that I made for her newborn daughter in the closet in a box to be passed on to a grandchild.

I am still seeking the perfect signature gift. Design Her Gals (http://www.designhergals.com/) stationary or personal cards is one that everyone enjoys (I create the person to look like the person I am giving the stationary or cards to) plus my purchase goes toward a good cause, breast cancer. I love the purse holders–hope I win one!

My signature gifts are some of "my favorite gadgets." I have given wine openers, wine bags, a great bottle of wine, personalized napkins, kleenex, etc………I LOVE THE PURSE HOLDERS…….that will be next!

I take a lot of pictures as a part time photography junkie and have piles of old photos around from my parents (who also are camera junkies)- on special occasions I break out one from a memorable moment that includes the person getting the gift. For instance on my Cousin's birthday, I cleaned up and framed a pic of us when we were little kids. For my BFF's first wedding anniversary I gave her a picture I took of her husband holding and kissing her hand on her wedding day that she did not know I had taken.

WOW – these are so cool – have never seen them before, but what a great idea – a signature gift does not have to be big or expensive – I love looking for "just the right thing" – each person has different dynamics and likes. I try to distinguish those in the gift I give
