The Brooklyn Museum is currently holding the most comprehensive showcase of Takashi Murakami’s artistic career. Murakami received his PhD at the prestigious Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and took his inspiration from old and new, East and West. He combined traditional Japanese with anime, added a dash of American pop culture and dumped in a handful of surrealism. The result was delightful.
